Free Everyday Calculators
Dates and durations, running costs, home projects and shopping maths — the small calculations that are easy to get slightly wrong.

Leap years are not simply every four years: century years are skipped unless divisible by 400, which is why 1900 was not a leap year and 2000 was. Working days depend on which days you count. A duration across midnight is not a subtraction. The date and time tools here implement the full rules and explain them, rather than the approximation that works until it does not.
Running costs add up quietly
Fuel, electricity, commuting, coffee and subscriptions are individually trivial and collectively significant. These calculators annualise the small number, which is usually the point at which the figure becomes interesting.
The shopping maths that shops rely on
A bigger pack is not automatically cheaper per unit, and pack sizes are frequently chosen so the comparison is awkward to do in your head. The unit-price comparison tool normalises mixed units — grams against kilograms, millilitres against litres — and names the genuinely cheapest option.
