K to 12 districts and adult or overseas providers recruit through entirely separate channels, on different calendars and against different qualifications. School districts screen for the state endorsement first; language schools screen for a recognised certificate and classroom hours. In US public schools an ESL or bilingual endorsement is added to a state teaching licence, and the name and route differ by state. Outside that system, TEFL, TESOL and CELTA certificates are the recognised qualifications, and hours and awarding body matter. Name whichever route you took.
The first pass is an eligibility check against the vacancy. Certification area, grade band and state decide whether your file can be considered at all, and a screener working through a stack during a hiring window will not reconstruct them from your job history.

Attribute honestly, note the cohort size, and include the initiatives you led beyond your own classroom, since those are what distinguish candidates with similar teaching records.
Open with your certification area, grade band and state, because that determines whether you are eligible for the vacancy at all. Everything else in the summary should point at student outcomes rather than teaching philosophy — philosophy belongs in the interview, where you can be asked about it.
District postings are formulaic but district priorities are not. Read the school improvement plan or the district strategy if it is public, and mirror the language of the initiatives you can genuinely support. Write your certification area exactly as the state writes it, include clearances with their issue dates, and note anything in progress with the date you expect to finish.
School hiring runs to a calendar and often to a committee, with an application form carrying work the resume does elsewhere. Expect a demonstration lesson or a scenario interview, and expect any claim about student outcomes to be discussed in detail.
