Weld qualifications to ASME Section IX, stated with process, position and material, are the core credential and must be continuous. Apprenticeship completion is the standard route in. Confined space, fall protection and site-specific safety orientations are required almost everywhere. Any code stamp work sits with the employer holding the stamp, not the individual.

Describe the work in the units the trade uses: square footage, linear feet, tonnage, service calls per day, machines run, crew size.
